Automation: Add to Dataset or Records using Reference Table

Last Updated: March 11, 2021

This action is used when you want to add entries to a dataset or a record through the reference table whenever a ticket is filed.

PREREQUISITE

You need to create a data table or a record table where you want to add the record.

Example:

We have a record for Yacht Details.

CREATE A FORM

We need to add a reference table in form with the following fields to add the data in the table above.

- Customer Email
- Name
- Make
- Model
- Brand
- Registration no.

CONFIGURING THE AUTOMATION

1. RULE TRIGGERS:

- On Status Assigned

2. CONFIGURATION

- RULES (Configure your own rules)
- ACTION (Add to Dataset or Records using Reference Table)

Dataset or Records: refers to the table in your dataset / record.

REFERENCE TABLE MAPPING

This is used to map the form controls in the form builder to the columns of the table. The fields in the form mapping should always match the fields in the Dataset Column.

SUBMIT A TICKET

From the table above, there are only two rows of data.

UPDATED DATA ENTRY

You will notice that another data has been added to the record. This new row is what we ticked in the ticket submitted before.
